Your school may set earlier deadlines and higher fees than what IB charges schools.

Accessing IBDP results
students
When you visit official ibo.org page to access student results , the page asks for your personal code eg abc123 and your PIN eg PASSW0RD. The PIN is usually shared using Lucida Console , a font shipped with all Windows machines. The PIN cannot be reset.
If you enter an incorrect PIN 3 times in a row, the lock will be lifted after 30 minutes of inactivity. Close all ibo.org tabs while you wait, and use incognito mode when you come back to try again.
Students from different schools receive results at different times, with the earliest being 2026-07-06 noon GMT.
Your coordinator may further delay your access by an additional 48 hours, and may limit what you see on the page, though this is rare.
The results can be revealed one subject at a time or altogether.
You can see your final percentage rounded to the nearest integer. You will also see the number of percentage marks needed to improve your grade, rounded up to the nearest integer.
coordinators
Coordinators from different schools receive results at different times. The coordinator sees the same results as students but 24 hours earlier, with the earliest being 2026-07-05 noon GMT.
universities
Post-secondary institutions receive digital results at 2026-07-05 noon GMT. Institutions requesting paper transcripts will receive them a few weeks later. If a grade changes, such as due to a re-mark, the institution will be alerted of the new grades free of charge.

results by component
Coordinators will receive component grades at 2026-07-07 noon GMT. It is recommended that you receive your results by component via the coordinator, before requesting a re-mark.
Component 1-7s are for comparison purposes only, and are not used in final grade calculations.
school and global statistics
Coordinators will receive provisional school and global statistics by subject at 2026-07-09 noon GMT. This information is not directly shared with students or universities.
graded copy of student work
Coordinators may purchase the marked component of a subject for the entire the entire cohort (eg everyone’s Paper 1 in a subject), via enquiry upon results category 2A.
Each student may also buy their own work for 20 USD per student per subject (including all papers) via enquiry upon results category 2B.
The work will be returned digitally in 10 days or likely sooner, containing marking stamps. As the grading is summative, examiners are not paid to write additional comments.
Schools and students have 2 months to make this request.
IA feedback
Coordinators will receive IB grading feedback at 2026-07-12 noon GMT. This is about the school teachers’ marking standards and does not refer to specific IAs.
If a subject’s average IA mark drops 15% or more after moderation, the school may request a re-moderation without the risk of anyone’s grade going down.
physical diploma
Starting from end of August, schools will receive physical copies of IB Diplomas (student name only) and IBDP Results (transcripts). Students without the diploma will receive only the DP Course Results.
Diploma requirements
The full list of Diploma requirements and the TOK/EE matrix are available from official ibo.org DP passing criteria page. If you were not awarded the diploma, you would be told the reason(s) why.
If you take a seventh subject, this is registered as a non-Diploma subject and cannot retroactively contribute to your Diploma.
Re-mark
Students have a 2-month period to request a re-mark. A re-mark will have an experienced examiner marking all external components that can be regraded for the subject in question. The new grade is final, and may be lower, higher, or the same as the initial grade. The coordinator must receive written permission from the student or their parents prior to submitting a re-mark.
The fee is about 130 USD per subject. It will be refunded if the grade out of 7 changes. IB aims to complete each re-mark in 18 days, though most are returned within a week. As much as possible, IB get a different examiner to look it over.
Certain external components cannot be regraded. This includes multiple choice questions that are machine-graded. This also includes components that are graded by the examiners who set the grading standards for other examiners. IAs cannot be re-marked, but they can be re-moderated.
It may be worth while to first request your graded papers to see if you can spot obvious grading or scanning errors.
Works being re-marked may be subjected to scrutiny under IB academic integrity policy, as is the case for the original grading.
About 30-50% of received remarks have their percentages out of 100% unchanged, with higher and lower percentage changes being roughly equally likely. Over 90% of re-marks have final percentage stay within 2% of initial grading.
NECM
Non-exam route students have final grades calculated from externally marked IAs and their predicted grades (PG). There is the option “student initiated predicted grade enquiry (SIPGE)” to challenge the final grade. After discussing with the school, non-exam route students can request IB modify the PG by providing a written statement and 3 pieces of representative student work. This cost about 250 USD and the new PG as determined by IB will supersede whatever was provided by the school. The final grade will then be re-calculated and will be final.
Retake
If you are unhappy with IB grades, you can resit any or all subjects in a future session. Retakes should be registered by Jul 29, even if there is re-mark pending. It is free to withdraw from a retake if the re-mark comes back successful. The retake fee is approximately 130 USD by Jul 29, and 290 USD after.
If the subject assessment has not changed significantly, students can choose to carry-over their IA grades and other non-exam components, such as the Group 1 HL Essay. If the student writes a new IA, the retake must be registered at a school where the student attends or attended class. Only new, not revised, IAs can be submitted. EE, Visual Arts, and Design Technology and other subjects may allow substantially revised work. An RPPF must be submitted with the EE retake. TOK retakes must be on the new essay prompts for the retake session.
Not all subjects are available in both May and November sessions, or in all response languages.
For six-month retakes, students cannot change subjects, other than the EE subject, but may change the fourth HL to a third SL. In six-month retake, HL history option cannot be changed, and cannot switch between math AA and AI.
Because students must receive instruction in each Diploma subject, changing subjects in a retake is only practically possible when year 1 Anticipated candidates change SL(s) for their main Diploma session in year 2.
Students have an unlimited number of retake sessions. Students are responsible to make up for any syllabus changes between the original and the retake sessions.
The higher grade in a valid retake and the newer grade in a re-mark, contribute to the Diploma.
How IB grades are calculated
IB takes a weighted sum of your raw component marks, before looking up the sum in the grade boundaries.
Suppose in Math AA SL, you get the following grades

Edge cases
name change
After results issue, the spelling of your name on your transcript and on your Diploma can only be changed if compelled by law.
legalization
Talk to your coordinator regarding universities that require legalization of your Diploma and/or your transcript. If you haven’t heard of this then you don’t need it. Communicate clearly to IB when the university requires this. ibo link on legalization
replacement physical diploma
Physical copies of the IB Diploma and the IBDP Results are issued 2 months after results release. The student can request replacement copies after 6 months have passed since results release. Before then, only the coordinator can request replacement copies.
grade is N or P
N either means you did not submit all required assessment components, or that you were found to have violated IB academic integrity policy.
P means result is pending. It is a placeholder if IB hasn’t finished marking by Jul 5. Subjects with active re-marks display the original grades until the new ones are available.
